The Association aims to provide the following services and benefits to its members.
  • Lead as the unified ‘Voice of the Retail industry’ in Sri Lanka and to represent Industry and Members on all key issues and challenges affecting Retailers
  • Promote Sri Lanka as an attractive Retail Shopping destination for Tourists with the organizing of annual and seasonal creation and maintenance of Shopping festivals.
  • Provide advisory services to Members and the Government on retail issues.
  • Be a Catalyst for developing Budget proposals for the National Budget and presenting it to Government ministries and relevant authorities.
  • Lobbying and working closely with Government and relevant authorities in National Retail related projects.
  • Research on Global and Local Retail trends and Government policies and disseminate to Membership through regular communiques via SLRA's e-newsletters, bulletins and circulars.
  • Networking opportunities with Retailers through various events and joint seasonal campaigns.
  • Facilitate Global, Regional and Local Trade links and Business partnerships.
  • Provide Research and Statistical analysis for Members to Benchmark performance.
  • Discounted rates to SLRA's Forum, conferences and seminars that will enhance knowledge and application on current issues, challenges and trends in the Retail industry.
  • Continuous Training & development and grants for the finalists and winners of the Annual SLRA 'Retail industry Awards’.
